Three albums of music released via Endgame / APM Music - 5/14/12

Endgame Albums

Winifred's music is featured in three new album releases from Endgame / APM Music. The albums, entitled Magical Realms, Investigation & Pursuit and Dark Times, feature epic fantasy tracks, magically atmospheric pieces and edgy crime-scene grooves.

Winifred Phillips' Music Part of Haifa International Flower Exhibition - 4/11/12

Winifred's music is currently being featured as part of the 2012 Haifa International Flower Exhibition. From April 7th - 14th, this amazing show is spread across 30 acres of Hecht Park in Israel. Here is a video of part of the spectacular exhibit in which Winifred's music is featured:





Winifred Interviewed for Forthcoming Book- 4/9/12

Keeping ScoreAs a composer for video games, Winifred Phillips has been interviewed for two previous books (Keeping Score by Tom Hoover, and Cash Tracks by Jeffrey Fisher).

Soon, an interview with Winifred will appear in a third book.

Cash TracksThe book, Conversations with American Women Composers, is currently being completed by Dr. Jennifer Kelly and will soon be released.

In this book, Winifred will be interviewed about her career and her approach to the art and craft of game music composition.

The National Academy of Video Game Testers and Reviewers has nominated the track 'Victoria's Lab', written by Winifred Phillips and produced by Winnie Waldron for the video game LittleBigPlanet 2, for a prestigious NAViGaTR award in the category "Best Original Song".

The National Academy of Video Game Testers and Reviewers is comprised of more than 640 voters for the most comprehensive awards program in the gaming industry, the NAViGaTR awards. The annual awards recognize outstanding achievements and innovations in video games.

Interactive Achievement Awards
The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences hasnominated the musical score of LittleBigPlanet 2 for an Interactive Achievement Award! As one of the composers for this project, Winifred Phillips received a nomination for "Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition".

The Interactive Achievement Awards recognize the best video games, computer games, mobile entertainment as well as individual and team craft achievement. Award winners are determined by a vote of qualified AIAS members.

LittleBigPlanet 2 Nominated for "Best Audio" in the Game Developers Choice Awards - 1/8/12

Game Developer's Choice AwardsThe Game Developers Choice Awards has named LittleBigPlanet 2 as a nominee for this year's Best Audio award!

The Best Audio Award recognizes the overall excellence of audio in a game - including musical composition, orchestration, sound design, sound effects, etc.

The Game Developers Choice Awards are the premier accolades for peer-recognition in the video game industry.

LittleBigPlanet 2 on Kotaku's "Best Game Music of 2011" List - 12/17/11

Kotaku Best Game Music 2011Kotaku has named the musical score of LittleBigPlanet 2 as one of the best video game soundtracks of the year!

The Kotaku article included YouTube videos for both of Winifred's tracks: "Victoria's Lab" and "Eve's Asylum". Kotaku also called these tracks their favorites from the game.

Composer Winifred Phillips Celebrates her Hollywood Music in Media Award Nomination - 11/28/11

HMMA 2011 Red Carpet

This year the Hollywood Music in Media Awards nominated Winifred's song "Victoria's Lab" from the smash hit video game "LittleBigPlanet 2" for Best Song in a video game. Winifred Phillips attended the gala awards event along with her music producer Winnie Waldron, who worked with her on the "Victoria's Lab" track for LittleBigPlanet 2. During the event they were photographed on the red carpet, pictured above.

Last year, Phillips & Waldron were the winners in the "Best Song in a Video Game" category from the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for the "Legend of the Guardians" game. You can see the "Victoria's Lab" music video below:

LittleBigPlanet 2: Toy Story

Composer Winifred Phillips' latest project is the comically adventurous score for LittleBigPlanet 2: Toy Story, the first full downloadable-content release for one of the best reviewed games of the year.

Following her two wildly popular tracks for the initial release of LittleBigPlanet 2 in January, Phillips served as the sole composer for the newly released Toy Story DLC game, creating a musical score that features such divergent styles as big band jazz, cowboy blue grass, and symphonically epic science fiction.

Winifred Creates Music for LittleBigPlanet 2

Winifred Phillips' latest project is the "Victoria's Lab" and "Eve's Asylum" music for the videogame LittleBigPlanet 2, from Media Molecule / Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. Released in January 2011, LittleBigPlanet 2 has received enormous critical acclaim, and has sold over 1 million game copies since its release in January.

This funny music video for LittleBigPlanet 2 features music written by Winifred. The song, entitled "Victoria's Lab Int", was composed for the videogame developed by Media Molecule and published by Sony Computer Entertainment.




Winifred Phillips Nominated for IFMCA - 2/11/11

IFMCAThe International
Film Music Critics Association today announced its list of excellence in musical scoring for 2010,
and the music of the Legend of the Guardians videogame is a nominee in "Best Original Score for a Video Game or Interactive Media". Winifred and the Legend of the Guardians videogame music producer Winnie Waldron are thrilled to be recognized by the IFMCA.

The annual IFMCA Awards, which were first presented in 2004, are the only awards given to composers by film music journalists.


Hollywood Music in Media Award Winner - 11/20/10

Hollywood Music in Media AwardsMusic composed by Winifred Phillips and produced by Winnie Waldron has just won a 2010 Hollywood Music in Media Award in the category "Best Original Song - Video Game". The winning song is "With Hearts Sublime" from the Legend of the Guardians videogame (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment).

HMMA Awards 2The awards gala took place on November 18th at The Highlands at the Kodak Theater Complex / Hollywood & Highlands Center in Hollywood, CA. The event was at capacity with composers, music supervisors, industry luminaries, celebrities and independent music artists, coming from as far away as Japan, Australia, Norway and other locations around the globe.

Presenters, hosts and VIPs included actress Jane Fonda, legendary producer Richard Perry and rock star Gilby Clarke (Guns & Roses, "Rockstar: Supernova"), among others. Click here for the full list of 2010 winners.
